How to Upload Student Comments into the Grade Center Using Excel
Comments are downloaded only when you select a single Grade Center item and the option to include its associated comments.The comments downloaded and uploaded are for the grade.You may add comments offline and upload them to the full Grade Center to appear in the Quick Comments feature.
1. Download the Grade Center
Go to the Grade Center
Click Work Offline on the right side
Select Download
Choose Selected Column
Use the drop down arrow to select the column where you want to have the comments
Check Include Comments for this Column
Leave everything else default and click Submit
Click Download to download the file to your computer.
Note: Once you have downloaded the file, please make sure you save it to your computer. You can also create another copy of the original file and start working the copy version.
2. Add your comments into Excel
Open the Excel file that you downloaded
Look for the column that is labelled Feedback to Learner
Insert your comments into the column
Save the file after you finish, and click Yes when it gives your format warning message
Note: Please do not change the title of the columns, focus on the "Feedback to Learner" column.
3. Upload the Excel file back into the Grade Center
Go to the Grade Center
Click Work Offline on the right side
Select Upload
Click Browse My Computer and locate the Excel file
Click Submit
Confirm your upload file once more. Check the Upload checkbox and the name of the column. Click Submit to proceed.
4. Verify the comments in the Grade Center
Go to the Grade Center
Click the Chevron arrow
Select Quick Comment
Comment will be visible in the Feedback to Learner area
