How to Copy a Test from One Course to Another
If you are in charge of multiple courses, you have the ability to copy a test from one course to another one.
How to Copy the Test
Log into the course that has the current test you want to copy. (Let's say this is Clerkship 1A for example)
Click on Course Tools located on the bottom left corner.
Select "Tests, Surveys, and Pools"
Select "Tests" on the next page.
Find the test you want to copy here.
Hover over it and select the arrowed chevron that appears.
Select "Export to Local Computer" from the drop down menu.
The file should download onto your computer.
Go to the course that you want the copy to go into. (Let's say this is Clerkship 2B for example)
Click on Course Tools located on the bottom left corner.
Select "Tests, Surveys, and Pools"
Select "Tests" on the next page.
Click on the blue button named "Import Test"
Select "Browse My Computer"
Find the file you downloaded in the earlier step. (Usually your file is saved either in your Downloads folder or your Desktop but it depends on how you have your PC / Mac setup)
Double click the file.
Click the blue Submit button once you are done. (In this example we just copied a test from Clerkship 1A into Clerkship 2B)
Note: Although you have uploaded the test inside of the course, you still have to specify where the test will be located once students come looking for it. This is called "deploying the test."
How to Deploy the Test
The most common places a test is given or taken is either in the Assessments, Course Info, or Course Content area of your course.
Let's say I want to place the test inside of Course Info. Click on this area in your course.
Then select the blue button labeled "Assessments"
From the drop down menu, select "Test"
Find the test you just imported into your course in the box labeled "Add an Existing Test"
Click on the test to highlight it.
Select Submit
Note: As soon as you hit submit, you will be taken to the Test Settings. You can actually close out of this screen if you want to fill in the settings later. The test is now inside of the area you have chosen. (In this example, the test should now be inside of the Course Info area.)
