How do I access the Grade Center?
1. Click on Grade Center in the Control Panel.
2. Click on the Full Grade Center link when it appears.
How do I enter the FINAL LETTER GRADE?
Graded columns are automatically created when you create a graded assignment, test, survey, discussion board, test, blog, wiki, or journal in Blackboard and assign a point value. You may need to create additional columns for items not created in Blackboard.
1. Access the Grade Center in the Control Panel and click on Full Grade Center.
2. Click on Create Column
3. Complete the Create Grade Column form.
· Column Name: Provide a name for the column - e.g. ACC Final Grade
· Grade Center Display Name: If you would like a different name displayed for the column, enter it here.
· Description: Enter a description for the column, if desired. We strongly suggest adding a short description in order for the students to fully undesrtand their grade
- e.g. this is your grade for the clerkship.
4. Select grade format and points possible.
· Primary Display: Choose whether you want the column’s grades to appear in your Grade Center and the students’ My Grades as a Score, Text, Percentage, Letter, or Complete/Incomplete format. For the Final Letter Grade, choose TEXT.
· Secondary Display: Choose a format if you would like the column’s grades to appear, in your Grade Center only, in a second format.
· Category: Choose a Category for this item from the ones provided by Blackboard or create your own using instructions provided in this document under Creating Categories. Categories are useful for grouping items to assign a percentage in a Calculated Column.
· Points Possible: Enter the number of points possible to receive. For the Final Letter Grade, enter 0.
5. Enter Due Date and Options.
· Due Date: Enter a Due Date for the item, if desired. - This is not applicable.
· Options: If you would like to include this item in grade calculations for the course, select Yes. If you would like students to be able to see the graded column, select Yes. If you would like students to see the class average and median grades for the item, select Yes.
· For the Final Letter Grade, we suggest setting everything to NO . You will change the student visibility to YES when you are ready to submit and post the grades for the students.
6. Click Submit when you are finished.
7. Click the dash in the cell you would like to enter the grade.
8. The grade information appears above in the Grade information Bar
· Using the Grade Information parameters, enter a grade and hit Tab or Enter (Return).
9. Continue clicking in the cells and adding grades until all are entered.
How do I enter the MSPE paragraph?

- e.g. this is your final paragraph for the clerkship which will be included in the MSPE letter.
4. Select grade format and points possible.
· Primary Display: Choose whether you want the column’s grades to appear in your Grade Center and the students’ My Grades as a Score, Text, Percentage, Letter, or Complete/Incomplete format. For the MSPE paragraph, choose Complete/Incomplete.

6. Click Submit when you are finished.
7. Click the dash in the cell you would like to enter the grade. Click on the CONTEXTUAL MENU (double chevron) and choose View Grade Details.
8. This will open up the full grade deatils of the student. Enter 0 in the Current Grade Value and paste the MSPE paragraph onto the Feedback to User box.
9. Continue with the same steps for the other paragraphs.
10. Once completed, click on the grade column's CONTEXTUAL MENU and click Show to Users. This will allow the grades to be seen by the medical students.
11. NOTE: DO NOT COPY AND PASTE FROM Microsoft
WORD. If your paragraph is in MS Word, copy and paste to Wordpad or TextPad (PC) or TextEdit (Mac) first. This will remove all unseen HTML codes from MS Word.
12. Once you have pasted the MSPE paragraph to WordPad, TextPad or TextEdit, copy and paste to the Feedback to User section. Hit SAVE.
13. The MSPE paragraph is in. You may scroll to check the paragraph or click View Full Comment. Once satisfied, hit Return to Grade Center.
How does my student check his/her grades?
1. Click on Bb Tools in the Course Menu.
2. Click on My Grades.
3. My Grades View.
4. They can click on View Full Comment for the entire text view.
