How to Upload a File into a Discussion Board
This will show you how to upload a file (PDF, Microsoft Word Document, etc.) into a Discussion Board. This will be attached to your post so that other students and / or your course director can view the file you want to upload.
Step 1) Locate your File
Make sure you know where your file is located on your computer. When you save your work, make sure to place it inside an easy to remember area such as your Desktop or Documents folder.
Step 2) Log into Blackboard
Select your course from the My Courses area.
Step 3) Click on the Discussion Board
Find out from your course director where they want you to upload your file.
First the course director must create a Forum for you. (This is a space you will be able to click on once you have selected "Discussion Board" on the left hand side.)
Once you are inside the Forum, find the Thread you need to post in. (If your course director wants you to create a thread, click the Create Thread button at the top of the page.)
Once you are inside a thread you will need to upload your file here. (If you are inside someone else's thread, click the Reply button to begin a post.)
Step 4) Uploading your File
Once you are inside a thread and you are creating a post or reply, select the "Browse My Computer" button.
Search your computer for the file. You can navigate throughout your computer to find your file.
Once you find it, click it, and select Open. (You can also double click it)
Right away, make sure to click Submit.
Your post should now be complete.
